BlogTracks: Getting To Know Peace

Getting To Know Peace
“I AM happy to be at peace today.” I wrote these words as a status post on my Facebook profile page (Val Oliver) on Friday, August 5, 2011. These eight words have generated the largest response I have received so far this year. People who rarely reply to anything I post either had a comment or simply “LIKED” it. I know how much I value peace, how much I am willing to give peace a chance in the midst of living life during these times of uncertainty about the future. Evidently, from the amount of responses to my post, people want to get on the peace train  and stop living life in wartime as the days accelerate. People wonder how I can be at peace and have a smile on my face so often.

In my personal experience, peace is the balance of opposites merged together that transform to become something new. It’s like the old saying that opposites attract  and those two hearts can beat as one . It’s recognizing that both have a right to exist because it’s the nature of how this world is created. Everything in life has an opposite or complimentary energy form: up has down, in has out, hot has cold, dead has alive, good has evil, black has white, love has hate, fear has faith, and Democrat Maria Shriver has Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger (Well, they did have their share of marital bliss). The point is that two opposing forces can co-exist in the same space. Have you ever experienced a beautiful sadness?

What is it like when two opposing forces merge to create something new? It’s peaceful. Oddly enough, I experience it the most when other people and situations around me are off balance. Peace can also be accepting who you are and where you are, and who they are and where they are without judging any of it. Peace can be in those mind, body, physical and energy spaces where you accept what you can’t change (others), change what you can (you), and have the wisdom to know the difference. I put a premium on peace in my life, and choose to continue to support myself and others who invest in the same choice.

BlogTracks: You Dig, Dig, Dig. What Have You Got There? Gold!

Yesterday, I received a double rainbow during a nap in what I think was a dream even though I felt like I was awake. Now this is quite fascinating to me because I’ve been viewing and listening to a song titled “Wishery” (a remix of a song from Walt Disney’s Snow White that I discovered through one of the Facebook groups. This led me to thinking about mining for gold within myself and others as a healing artist. The gold nuggets I’m talking about are mental, emotional, physical, electromagnetic and spiritual energy that can yield treasure in many forms.

I don’t know about you, but for many years I have loved the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” made famous by Judy Garland singing it in the film, The Wizard of Oz. It taught me to believe I had to travel over it to get to “the pot of gold” to transmute and transform the stress and troubles of my life to beauty, peace, and tranquility. It seemed so far away, so way up high, too high, and how do I get to it?

It took me gently digging into my self with a master healer as my guide to discover the answer that I had forgotten: I AM the rainbow. The rainbow that exists above also exists below: the rapture of the double rainbow – the rainbow of love. Every person is a living rainbow to me, the manifestation of the rainbow light here on earth, and can come to believe that they are the true Wiz of their life. I don’t want to get into a conflict with any fans of leprechauns, but I am proof that the pot of gold is not over the rainbow but instead within me. Those nuggets and gems are within each of us, ready to be accessed, retrieved, revealed in the hidden places in our minds, physical and energy forms, hearts and spirits when we are ready to awaken, heal, and live the lives we dare to dream.

Music artists: Judy Garland, Lena Horne, Keith Jarret, Carole King, Tania Maria, and Stevie Wonder

Love, light and and a wonder-filled day to you!

BlogTracks: Soundtracks Included In Blog Posts

BlogTracks is the name of a new format I’m using to integrate my love of blogging, creative nonfiction memoir writing, film, and music to prepare for this Sarah’s Last Words project which will have a music supervisor for the e-book and film versions when the technology is up to speed. I hope you enjoy this premiere entry and I would love to read your comments.

Little Red Riding Hood, You Sure Are Looking Good . . .
People keep telling me that there’s a holding pattern energy around for me (and for so many of others who are just practically going crazy with the need for our paths to be CLEAR and FREE). Notice that I said path(s) (multiple streams). Then again, the way the energy is flowing for me, it could turn out to be another of what Lauren Gorgo calls a “sike!” in her latest Conscious Co-Creation Coaching post entitled,”Reassessing, Redirecting and Resetting.” It’s the Trickster!

Put The Lime In The Coconut And Then You’ll Feel Better
I spoke to Eleanora Amendolara recently, and received the guidance that there’s still yet another FEAR imprint that’s interfering with me emerging as fully authentic to do-what-I-was-brought-back-from-death-to-do. I’m sooooo closing in on the amazing life of my technicolor dreams (while I’m helping others, getting help, and receiving more knowledge about the best ways to serve in the future). I can’t gaily move forward without responding to the Creator’s guidance on the actions to take for a complete transformation (or close to it) of old issues to be resolved or dissolved before moving forward into my new life so they won’t sabotage this time around. More to CHILL leading to the essence of FREEDOM.

I want to call family and friends and new contacts today. But first, I know I need to focus on transforming or correcting those fears and other things that are sticking their tongue out at me saying, “Nah-nah-naaaah-nah!” My reply? “Hey, hey, hey — Goodbye.”

Twinkle, Twinkle, Everybody Is A Star
Is there anyone who doesn’t want to be accepted for the star who they truly are; the healer, the peacemaker, the the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, the little girl who lives down the lane? I AM that I AM. And so sang Gloria Gaynor with a twist on it in a super hot, disco theme about gay (and other) self acceptance. And I am so chopping at the bits to act, do, move, accomplish, and succeed. I write proposals, make phone calls, consult with my business manager, consult with my mentor, consult with friends, and trust the supportive energy of discernment concerning people, places, ways, and things that are or aren’t for me anymore and vice versa. God bless us everyone, no regrets, and thanks for the memories.

In the meantime . . . I will continue to post on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, here and my other blogs when I can and have the interest, flying in the face of all the social media experts do’s and dont’s to be successful at online communication. May be right, may be wrong, or may be until a new way comes along. But then again, these could be my last words said the turtle to the bird: “I believe I can fly.”

Maybe this is why when I see so many of you speeding around, driving so fast in cars passing me on the highways impatient that I’m enjoying the scenery, I try not to judge any of it. I get that the earth has picked up speed, but wonder what’s YOUR hurry. Are you late for a very important date, or just on fast forward? I don’t mean to upset or disrespect how you decide to move, but I’ve been in that tunnel in the Light and have to take life all in like it may be the first and last I remember. It’s safer and more fun to drive and watch what happens.

Why Aren’t There More Trickster Book & Film Stories?

HEYOKA : Lakota concept of trickster, contrarian, jester, satirist or sacred clown.

“Trickster stories were told to entertain and teach. Stories were usually left unexplained. This was done out of respect for the intelligence of both the listener and the Great Mystery. They hold deep meanings and no matter how you explain them there is always something left to ponder and “chew on” another day. Repeated tellings enable the listener to deepen their experience of the story depending on their own capacity, their knowledge of the community and their depth of spiritual attainment.”
— from Revelations in Trickster Medicine by Anna Earle Green, Spirit Well Holistics

While working as a ghostwriter with an editor on a creative nonfiction memoir project, I found myself in heated conversations to not make everything so obvious, so linear, while the editor adhered to the continuous clarity of themes, and the exact identity of who is doing the talking throughout the book to serve the reader. We drove each other a bit crazy, and I must say that I gave into her perspective most of the time even though the subject of the book is a master shaman, alchemist, seer, magician, healer and I felt it needed to reflect the mystical, rebel, trickster, outside-the-box character of the author in format, voice and content.

Traditional prophets disrupt the mundane to point toward eternal truths, but the prophetic trickster disrupts the “eternals” themselves, and in so doing points toward the plenitude of this world, the fullness it has when not obscured by all our ideas, structures, and rules for living.”

Revelations in Trickster Medicine by Anna Earle Green, Spirit Well Holistics

In my heart and soul, I am more dedicated to “Trickster Stories,” whether they are in film or literary form. There are vital reasons why this is so about which I plan to share in the book and film. I don’t want Last Words to be another story that does not respect the intelligence of the reader or viewer.

As part of my research for this project, I will be reviewing stories (including short stories, essays, books and films) that are tricksters or contain trickster energy.

If we are on the same wavelength, do recommend your favorites.
